More Notre Dame Photos

Here a few more pictures of this famous cathedral showing the dominating external facade and the detailed altar and internal sculpture and art work. This is one of the "must see" buildings in Paris and it easily lives up to all expectations, however high. Miss it at your peril.

Here is a view showing the inside of Notre Dame cathedral which literally glows with its gold decoration.

This photo shows some of the scary gargoyles that run around the upper perimeter of the cathedral. They take a variety of forms ranging from bird like creatures to mythical animals from their creators imagination.

This is the cathedral's famous rose window. Photos do not do the window's scale, colours and refracted lighting effects justice.

This is one of the classic views of Notre Dame cathedral and most visitors to the cathedral take a photo of it from this angle.

Here is a closer view of the main altar within the cathedral. Again, the scale and grandeur of the detailing and ornate decoration is not represented by a picture.
