Paris Tourist Pass
If you are planning a weekend in Paris, there are several different "Paris Passes" available and one or more of them may save you money, organization time, or even prompt you to visit a sight that you might otherwise have missed. The passes range from,
- A Metro pass giving you pre-paid travel options on the bus, tube and possibly the tram and river boat.
A full Paris Tourist Pass (sometimes called a "passport").
Paris Tourist Pass
Normally just called a Paris Pass, this special ticket will give you an amazing number of benefits, usually including
- Admission to approximately 60 of the main tourist attractions in Paris (e.g. the Louvre, Arc de Triomphe, the Palace of Versailles etc)
- Queue jumping rights (meaning that you go straight to the front of the queue or entry gate) at busy times
- Free transportation on all Metro modes of transport across Paris (eg. Tube and bus zones 1 to 3).
- A free tourist map of the city
- Special offers, discount vouchers and or free gifts at some of the attractions (e.g. a complementary drink with a meal)
Buying a Paris Pass
Paris Passes are available for a duration of stays ranging from two days to six days. The price becomes more advantageous the longer the duration of the pass.
A two day pass will start from around 80 euros per person and a 6 day pass will be approximately 150 euros for an adult. Child price usually have a fifty percent discount.
Be aware that these passes are offered by a number of different companies and each may have different benefits. If you are not happy with the cost or benefits offered by one company, take a look at another.
The days of use of the pass must be consecutive. The passes do not carry over from one visit to another.
The pass only allows a single visit to each attraction, i.e. you cannot visit the same attraction on multiple days.
If you are only planning to spend a weekend or mini break in Paris, still be sure to check out any "on offer" extended pass deals - some may save you money, even if you leave before they expire.
